Dazzlingly gorgeous and rare city mansion – The Little Palace!
Built in 1898, built in 1898 and completely renovated and restored between 2004–2005 and 2019–2020, lovingly cared for and maintained and equipped with modern building technology, this beautiful Little Palace, located in a quiet, but at the same time central to the city's services, is an object that rarely is for sale!
The Little Palace is in the center of Tampere at the corner of Hämeenpuisto and Puuvillatehtaankatu. Finlayson's historic factory area, which is currently in office and business use, is located approx. 400 m away. This architecturally and culturally-historically valuable building is perfectly suited for residential use, but also works brilliantly as a high-quality commercial space for parties and gatherings. Originally, the building was completely used for residential purposes, e.g. resided by Finlayson's property manager, but has also served as an office between 1982 and 2001. After extensive renovations between 2004 and 2006, the middle and basement floors of the building have been used for festivities and other events. The top floor has mainly been in private use and lately as an art and antique exhibition space.
The three different floors of the facade of this historic neo-renaissance building are the result of the detailed renovation work carried out in 2019-2020, which is literally a breathtaking sight in the city center. Especially when the dusk of the evening descends, when well-designed outdoor lighting brings wonderfully out even the smallest details.
The property is surrounded by a handmade wrought iron fence to ensure privacy, and in the summer, beautiful rose plantings and perennials grow in the yard. The courtyard is crowned by a magnificent fountain, next to which several couples who celebrated their weddings in the palace have had their official wedding pictures taken. In the courtyard there is also a three-car garage/storage building completed in 2005.
The interior, which exudes luxury and dignity, makes any visitor smile when looking at all the beauty that can be found in the building; as a representative space, the solemn high main hall of the excellently functioning middle floor and glowing brilliance of the crystal chandeliers, the grand piano hall representing the atmosphere of a medieval knight's castle and its coffered ceiling panels, as well as wooden and decorated door frames, curtains with rods designed by the architect and wonderful wallpapers that exude the spirit of the building's era.
The visitor's attention is also captured by the palatial balconies with columns, wrought-iron staircase railings with delictae patterns, ceiling paintings and an authentic fresco in the stairwell, magnificent fireplaces, the unique identity, and style of each room on the timeless stylish top floor, as well as the kitchen and bathroom facilities that brilliantly serve the family's everyday life.
Also not to be overlooked is the astonishingly wonderful art mosaic work by Tuula Lehtinen in the swimming pool section of the basement floor and the English-style billiard room, which exudes the building's original 19th-century atmosphere, with its wonderful, vaulted ceilings and original fireplaces and wall paneling.
