This palace is one of the last remaining opulent townhouses, which were built in 1880 alongside the Royal Academy of Music, partially funded by the French reparation payments from the war of 1870. The architect Krantz was allowed to construct this impressive building for the upper-class citizens, incorporating elements of the old German Renaissance style and an imposing marble façade.
The staircase and the richly decorated sandstone portal have been preserved in their original form to this day, giving the building its charm.
