Masseria Moroseta is a white stone farmhouse standing proudly on the ridge with views across the olive trees to the sea. This estate was built using traditional techniques and local materials. Its modern architecture is influenced by the masserie (farmhouses) of the past. Set upon five hectares of olive groves with trees up to 500 years old, this masseria is an enclave of pared-down relaxation and rural simplicity.

The masseria is situated in the heart of the Puglia countryside with views of Ostuni, only three kilometres away, and the sea. Gorgeous beaches like Torre Guacetto are a short distance, as are historic towns, such as Cisternino, Alberobello, Martina Franca, Lecce, and Polignano al Mare.

The masseria was designed with extreme care towards the environment and sustainability. The one-meter thick walls with eco-friendly insulation moderate the temperatures such that very little air-conditioning is required, even on the hottest days, while very little heating is necessary in the winter. The living space - with its cross-ventilation windows - needs no air-conditioning at all. Solar panels provide sufficient electricity and heat for the entire structure, and the water supply is sourced from the organic farm within the estate. What's more, all the materials used in the construction were locally sourced (indeed, all stones were recycled from the land during the excavation of the building). Finally, all food and beverages are either grown on the property or sourced locally through local artisans, farmers, and producers.
As in a traditional farmhouse, the estate is set around the central courtyard: the salon and veranda with their views of the sea, the staircase to the roof terrace, and the six bedrooms on either side, half with private gardens and the other half with private terraces looking out across the fields. Vaulted ceilings and stone floors help to keep the interiors of the masseria cool even on the hottest days. The communal spaces encourage the kinship of community while providing many intimate nooks for moments of simple solitude, both inside and out, including the living room, the veranda with its outdoor barbeque, the spa and gym, and the large pool.

This modern yet traditional farmhouse can welcome up to 12 guests (with additional sleeping space for children). The home provides six bedrooms. Each bedroom is outfitted with king-sized beds and luxury linens, with a natural yet sophisticated living aesthetic and includes a private bathroom.

This contemporary farmhouse represents the amalgamation of modern, minimalist architecture with the historical and pastoral architecture characteristic of the region: a modern day farm grounded in history. Leaving out the marks of time, this masseria connects its guests with the past in a peaceful environment, and grounds them in the traditions of the Puglia countryside.
