“Fattoria Monte” is a small hamlet on the top of a hill, just 15 km far from Florence. The high position (about 300 meters above sea level) allows an outstanding 360 degrees view.
In the middle of the property there is the big square plan manor house: it dates back to the 16th century and it is built around an even more ancient tower.
At the base of the tower there is the oil mill, the barrels cellar and the rooms used for the processing of these extraordinary local products: oil and wine.
Outside there are two large barnyards, a little church with Renaissance facade and decorations, the old stables (transformed into reception rooms) and the ancient wood-burning oven for baking bread. Above the stables there are the farm houses with large fireplaces to warm up the cold winter nights.
All of these housing and rural facilities have been renovated and adapted to be used all year round as agritourism residence, bed & breakfast premises and prestigious location for weddings, meetings and events. Furthermore, there are a large professionally equipped kitchen and spacious utility rooms. Around the compound there is a large courtyard surrounded by tall cypress trees and the plateau where, in recent times, has been built a panoramic swimming pool.
The hill on which the property is erected completely belongs to the “Fattoria Monte” and includes two vineyards and about 1000 olive trees. Around the hill, meadows, oak forests, hillocks and olive trees groves stretch as far as the eye can see.
Monte is a small and isolated village, far from the noises but close to the town and to all the necessary services (bank, post office, shops, pharmacy, bus): a stone's throw from civilization but totally inside nature. At night, or early in the morning, it is not uncommon to encounter wild boars, porcupines or deers.
