Formerly an award winning Heritage Inn/Bed&Breakfast, Historic Davy House is now one of Niagara-on-the-Lakes most stunning private residences. Located steps from the restaurants and shops of Queen Street, just around the corner from the Shaw Festival, Davy House sits on one of Old Town's most tranquil streets, where the town's iconic Horse and Buggies seem to outnumber cars, and where the clp clop of hooves and the tolling of church bells are the soundtrack of everyday life. Built approximately 150 years ago, the original Davy House was designed, in part, by a ship's captain who envisioned the Breakfast Room's expansive bay window as the bow of a ship. Like Virtually all of the major rooms in Davy House, the Breakfast Room overlooks the most delightful garden imaginable, highlighted by a Koi Pond, waterfall and an immaculate swath of green - Davy House's multi-hole Putting Green. Each of the six bedrooms here has an ensuite bath, many of them with heated floors, and all of the guest rooms have their own fireplaces and TV's. At the original end of the house, a cosy Living Room with fireplace features double French doors that overlook the charming covered veranda outside. In the newer addition, a spacious Great Room opens to the home's Inviting Hot Tub Pavillion and leads to another Davy Street surprise - The Coach House. Hidden behind the garage, its two storey Loft offers a ground floor sitting room with floor-to-ceiling stone fireplace and a second floor bedroom with ensuite bath tucked under the sloping roof. A Perfect spot for special guests or even as a weekend rental. Finally, accessible by an outdoor stairway to the basement, lies a huge workshop, storage room and Man-cave, the piece de resistance for any do-it-yourselfer.
