Moskito Island is a 120 acre privately owned island in the British Virgin Islands, located in close proximity to Necker Island. In January 2007, Sir Richard Branson purchased Moskito Island. His primary purpose was to preserve and protect the natural beauty and ‘essence’ of the island, while creating a community of likeminded homeowners. He decided to develop the island in such a way as to allow nine additional investors to each acquire a Lot, comprising of approximately three acres, for development of a single-family private residence and also have equal shares in the remaining 90 acres of private estate land.
