Completed in 1966 and constructed of "Drysdale Pink" bricks, Bell designed the house as three pavilions, one each for work, living and sleeping, connected by a 50m long hallway. On the northern side of the house, floor to ceiling glass panels and sliding doors showcase panoramic and elevated views through magnificent bushland to Brisbane Water.


With an imposing entryway, the house, sympathetically restored by the current owners, (only the second owners since the house was built), comprises three ensuite bedrooms, all with high ceilings and floor to ceiling views. The master bedroom features his and hers ensuites, and there is a further guest bathroom.


The magnificent living room (the central pavilion) comprises a combined kitchen, dining and sitting room with a wood heater. Generous bookshelves and and cupboards run the entire length of the room. The library provides a quiet retreat, with a discrete office nook adjacent in the hallway and a further office next door.


Two sunny grassed courtyards on the northern side embrace the panoramic views and the sheltered sandstone paved courtyard is a sun trap in the winter months. Designed to be accessible, the house is entirely level, with a sandstone paved two car garage leading into the house from a separate entrance.


In addition there is a tranquil, separate one bedroom, two storey studio, once Drysdale's painting studio, with a north facing outdoor deck overlooking bushland.


Further accommodation is provided in the "Cloud House", a comfortable three bedroom, two bathroom cottage with spectacular views over Brisbane Water.


The peaceful and park like grounds are a haven for birds and wildlife, with extensive lawns, stands of native trees and ornamentals such as rhododendrons and azaleas spilling over a swathe of drystone walls. The saltwater pool adjacent to the main house was completely rebuilt in 2024, surrounded by travertine and a bougainvillea clad pool house.
