Bruny Island has long been the weekend and holiday destination for locals and over the past few years has become an absolute "must-see" for visitors from around the globe for several very good reasons.
The beaches are beautiful, the landscape is extremely varied, the wildlife plentiful and with only a few hundred permanent residents on the island the pace of life is slow, reminiscent of Tasmania 50 years ago.

Facilities include a general store offering a wide variety of groceries and other items plus the only fuel on the island.
There is also a Bowls Club serving meals on Friday nights as well as a couple of cafés and the Community Hall which is often used for activities and entertainment.
There are some really enjoyable local walking tracks including the amazing Fluted Cape track which takes you to the top of the Cape with its breathtaking views over towards The Peninsula.
